Zach Baumer leads climate action efforts for the City of Austin. He draws on nine years of experience as a private-sector consultant assisting cities and other clients with sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions and environmental protection.
He has consulted with companies and governmental entities to create and manage overall sustainability strategies, as well as greenhouse gas inventories, protocols and reduction plans.
A LEED Accredited Professional, he earned an MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio School of Management in San Francisco.
Zach is a native of Indianapolis and holds undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from Purdue University. An Austinite since 2009, he joined the City in May 2011.
