Mary Ann Rodriguez, MD, FACP, AAHIVS, Interim Medical Director and Health Authority

Dr. Rodriguez serves as the Interim Medical Director and  Health Authority for Austin Public Health since February 2019, following the departure of Dr. Phil Huang, the previous Medical Director.

Dr. Rodriguez has been the Medical Director of the Communicable Disease Unit, staffing the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic and the Tuberculosis Clinic of Austin Public Health since 2014.

Dr. Rodriguez received her medical degree from University of the Philippines College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. Her medical training included internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brackenridge Hospital (since replaced by Dell Medical Center), sponsored by UT Southwestern Medical Center at that time. She holds board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She is also credentialed as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
