We just found out that the Center for Digital Government's Best of the Web has named AustinTexas.gov the best municipal website in the country.
It’s amazing news - the recognition is very gratifying – but as hard as we’ve worked, the real honor should go to the Austin community.
It’s no coincidence that the success of AustinTexas.gov has been accompanied by unprecedented involvement and feedback from our community. Whether it was an individual user who took a moment to email us a tip, suggestion or head’s up about a broken link, or the more organized and directed feedback we’ve gotten from groups like Open Austin and Code for America, residents of Austin have been as big a part of our success as anyone.
We’ll be communicating more soon about the award and why we think we got it – but for now, we just want to thank our supporters at the City of Austin and the community that has helped and supported us so much over the last two years.
