Four Steps to Being a Green Visitor

Mar 4, 2016 - 10:05 am

Whether it’s South by Southwest, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, or Formula 1, events are part of Austin’s DNA. If you’re here for a visit, here are things you can do to help keep Austin green, weird, and beautiful!

1. Go Local

There’s no better way to experience Austin than checking out the local businesses. Make your visit one-of-a-kind by eating and shopping local. Help Keep Austin Weird.

2. Sustainable Transportation

Opt out of driving and consider sustainable transportation options such as riding a bike, taking the bus, or walking instead. If you have to drive, utilize car/ride share options or carpool.

3. Recycle on the Go

Austin Resource Recovery recently added recycling bins downtown and many businesses also offer recycling and composting options.

Not sure if something is recyclable or compostable? Check out the What Do I Do With…? Guide and know before you throw. Don’t let recyclables end up in the trash!
