“I hope my appreciation will be forwarded to the front line folks that were out in the cold and wet weather restoring our service. Our power went off about 3:30 a.m. So I was sitting there in the dark listening to the wind and rain when I realized that someone was out there trying to restore our power. It wasn’t long before the power was back on. Since then, when I wake each morning I think about the fact that electricity is not something to be taken for granted. More importantly I’ve had some time to reflect on those employees of yours who are willing to get out there in all elements to ensure that your [Austin Energy] customers are well taken care of. I truly want to thank each and everyone that helps keep our city running so well.”
