It’s a seldom spoken-of fact that visitors to downtown may not leave until a selfie has been achieved with the Willie Nelson statue. Given Mr. Nelson’s towering stature in real life, his statue is mounted high above the fray, making the science of good selfies difficult to pursue at that location. Into the breach stepped Officer David Bracken, who I spotted today in a kindly, patient, and artistic manner freeing some tourists from the sad burden of having to share #suboptimalselfies, by offering to take their picture with Mr. Nelson’s replica. He deserves our thanks.
Jesting aside, I just wanted to take a moment to express that I appreciate all the good work he and his fellow officers do each day throughout our City.
