I would like to express my gratitude for what your officers do for my city and community. I know these are trying times and to top it off, what a thankless job you have. I was born in Austin and grew up in the Montopolis neighborhood which I'm sure yall are familiar with. I will always be in debt to you guys because back in 2009 my mother was a victim of a robbery that took place on Montopolis Dr. Four thugs took her cell phone and purse from her and luckily one of your patrol units saw it and swooped in and saved my mother and arrested the criminals. Yall didn't know my mother and the officers didn't know if the thugs were armed or not but they pressed on and defended my mother as if she were their mother and that takes a special kind of human being to do that for a complete stranger. I could only imagine patrolling the hood can seem like a pointless task especially since people from there seem to be the ones who criticize your moves the most but just know there are good people who appreciate what you do for our neighborhood and we love you.
