Programs
APD offers internships to individuals currently enrolled in college and that possess an interest in pursuing careers in criminal justice or law enforcement. Internships are designed to allow students to experience the daily operations within a law enforcement agency.
The deadline for Fall 2012 Internships is Thursday, March 1, 2012. APD Does not offer summer internships.
Now accepting applications for Fall 2012. The deadline for registering for the Fall 2012 semester is July 13, 2012.
This program is designed to provide college students with insight into the inner workings of APD, to encourage those unsure of a career in law enforcement, and to provide a first-hand view of what law enforcement truly entails. It also serves to recruit future, quality police academy applicants.
*** Test dates will be on Thursday and Friday. Applicants must attend both days of testing. ***
Applicants testing in 2012 will be considered for cadet classes starting in December 2012. April 2013 and August 2013. Testing is reserved for up to 30 applicants and once the test date is full it will be posted.
