Austin Resource Recovery recognizes Austin businesses and organizations that practice resource recovery in innovative and environmentally responsible ways. These businesses help the City of Austin reach its Zero Waste goals to reduce landfill disposal 75% by 2020 and 90% by 2040.
Recycling and waste prevention are important aspects of running a sustainable company. Done right, reducing waste can pay for itself, which makes good business sense. To reach its Zero Waste goals, the City’s recycling ordinances require certain businesses to provide recycling services.
To reduce truck traffic downtown and help Austin achieve its Zero Waste goals, Austin Resource Recovery manages a commercial trash and recycling contract for businesses located in the Downtown Austin Recycling and Trash Service District (see map).
