Assignment
Internships are considered voluntary, unpaid positions. Placement is based on the needs of the department and is not guaranteed. Most interns will work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the semester, but assigned hours and duties are varied depending on where the student is assigned.
Typically a prospective intern will meet with a supervisor to discuss expectations, work schedule, etc. If an offer is made, the student must successfully complete a criminal background check before the offer is finalized and the internship can begin.
