PROJECT PURPOSE
Improvements are to address ADA compliance, facilities and playground improvement and drainage controls to minimize erosion of park grounds.

PROJECT SCOPE
The project consists of installation of new ADA compliant sidewalks, concrete pads with picnic tables and grills; new basketball half-court; installation of rain gardens and related site grading for drainage control; installation of new electrical service to existing structures; a new accessible parking space and retrofitting of existing restrooms to meet ADA compliance. Improvements shall provide a more accessible and enjoyable play area for the community. The scope of work also includes new site lighting fixtures to enhance park safety and new tennis court lighting.

FUNDING SOURCE
2012 Capital Improvement Bond and Parkland Dedication Fees.
Parkland Dedication is a local government requirement imposed on subdivision and site plan applications mandating the dedication of land for a park and/or the payment of a fee to be used by the governmental entity to acquire land and/or develop park facilities.

PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

An initial public meeting was held at Little Stacy Neighborhood Park on Saturday, August 29, 2015 to gather their input and join in a walking tour of the site.

A second public meeting was held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Travis Heights Elementary for participants to score areas between the three concepts for an integrated concept could be developed using preferred feedback from all three.

The third public meeting was held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Travis Heights Elementary. Community members participated and offered their feedback on the final site plan, which took into account on the three concepts presented in October 2015.

A meeting is planned for December 3, 2018 to provide SRCC community a status report on the awarded construction project scope and schedule.
