Hospital Designation Process

The Office of the Chief Medical Officer maintains Clinical Guidelines which include a Hospital Transport Grid which designates which area hospitals are currently designated as Receiving Facilities for EMS System patients as well as which facilities have confirmed their capabilities for providing care to specialized patient groups such as trauma or stroke patients.

The designation process ensures that EMS System patients are navigated to the most appropriate facility for their condition and receive the timeliest care possible.

Don't hesitate to contact Alexander Moore, the OCMO's Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Coordinator with any questions.
