The Capital Improvement Program Annual Report provides the status of key capital improvement projects, as well as spending on capital projects per department for the fiscal year.
Capital Improvements Program Plan
The capital project appropriation and spending plan for the next five years in Austin is described by the five‐year Capital Improvements Program (CIP) Plan. Updated annually, the CIP Plan outlines the City’s projected capital improvements during the next five years based on reasonably anticipated revenues. The CIP Plan does not appropriate funds; rather, it functions as a planning and budgeting tool that guides the annual development of the Capital Budget.
Long-Range Capital Improvement Program Strategic Plan
The Long-Range CIP Strategic Plan looks out into a 10-year and longer planning horizon and provides the basis for identifying ongoing capital needs as well as strategic opportunities for CIP investment over the long term. An important goal of the Long-Range CIP Strategic Plan is to inform and educate the public about the City’s CIP: how it works, how it is funded, and the types of priorities and factors that drive its implementation.
Quarterly Financial Reports
The City’s Quarterly Financial Reports summarize the City of Austin’s financial position through the end of each fiscal quarter. The Capital Improvements Program section provides information on spending plans, key project updates and mid‐year budget amendments. This information includes spending by department for all of the projects that a department sponsors or to which the department contributes funding.
