Divisions

The Austin Climate Protection Program, part of the Office of Sustainability, works to make Austin the leading city in the nation in the fight against climate change.

Through innovative programs and bold initiatives, the Climate Protection Program works to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions of the City government and the community at large. The Program was created in 2007 when Austin City Council passed a resolution directing the City to take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
