Stakeholder Process
Austin Resource Recovery is working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop recommendations for Austin City Council to update the Administrative Rules for Chapter 15-6. The Rules update will reflect the next phase (Phase 2) of the Universal Recycling Ordinance. Staff’s goal is to develop rules that are easy to understand and agreeable to most participants.
Stakeholder involvement is essential to ensure businesses and industries have their voices heard. Representatives of facilities with food service permits are key to the Phase 2 composting requirement discussions. Additionally, stakeholders may include, but are not limited to:
- Commercial properties (including industrial and manufacturing)
- Multi-family properties (with fewer than 25 units)
- Facilities with food service permits
- Private haulers and service providers
- City of Austin Departments
Sign up here to be a part of the stakeholder process and work collaboratively with Austin Resource Recovery to develop amendments to the Administrative Rules for Chapter 15-6.
