Washwise Rebate Program

After 15 years, Austin Water is ending its residential WashWise Rebate effective June 1, 2013. With efficient washing machines more available and competitively priced, Austin Water will now focus the program on encouraging the use of innovative technology and reducing water use at commercial, multi-family and institutional facilities.

Austin Water residential customers or customers of an eligible water provider can receive a $50 water rebate for the purchase and installation of an approved high-efficiency washing machine. Customers can also receive an energy rebate of $50 from Austin Energy or $25 from Texas Gas Service depending on the type of water heating used:

If you have an electric water heater, you must have Austin Energy service.
If you have a gas water heater, you must have Texas Gas Service and be within the city limits of Austin (rate code: Austin I/S Res).
Propane water heaters are not eligible for the energy rebate.

To receive the WashWise Rebate, eligible machines must be purchased before June 1, 2013, and rebate applications and copies of receipts must be submitted within 30 days of purchase.
