Presentation about Guadalupe Street Flood Risk Reduction Project

Monday, November 5, 2018 - 7:00pm

The Watershed Protection Department has completed a preliminary engineering study for the Guadalupe Street Flood Risk Reduction Project. Please join us for a presentation about the proposal at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 5, at the Griffin School, 5001 Evans Ave. All are welcome. You do not need to be a member of the neighborhood association to attend.

The proposed project would improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding in Hyde Park. Please see a map of the project area. The project would help with localized flooding caused by inadequate street drainage. It will neither help nor worsen flooding from the creek.

Among other things, the proposal includes:

  • Extensive improvements to the storm drain system along several streets in Hyde Park.
  • New detention ponds at Adams Hemphill Park and the Baker Center.
  • Modifications to the outfall at the Triangle Pond.
  • Improvements to the storm drain outfall at W. 33rd St.
