The Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center presents "In Remembrance of Dr. King"- A special presentation and film screening on Dr. King's birthday,
The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Special Presentation by Bamidele Demerson "Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: Consensus and Controversy in Public Monuments."

The iconic civil rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is the subject of several public works of art across the nation. In this slide illustrated presentation, we examine both consensus and controversy in how black artists have presented Dr. King in public monuments.
