Is there a fallen hem in your favorite shirt? Did your blender suddenly stop working? Is your child's toy a little worse for the wear? We may be able to teach you how to fix these items, and more, from the comfort of your home!
Fix-It Clinics help keep items out of landfills, but also teach repair skills, so you can feel more comfortable troubleshooting in the future. We were planning an in-person Fix-It Clinic for May, but in light of current circumstances, we’re piloting an online event! Be a part of The City of Austin’s first digital Fix-It Clinic!
Here’s how it will work:
1. Submit questionnaire
Submit this questionnaire about the item you'd like to work on (the sooner, the better).
2. Item review
Coaches and City staff will review submissions to ensure we can work on your item over video chat.
3. Reserve your time slot
You will receive an email with an assigned time slot for May 16 (between 11 a.m.–2 p.m.). During that time slot, you will meet in a small group chat with volunteer coaches and another participant, to work on your item. (If the assigned time doesn't work for you, you may request another time.)
