On Thursday, February 16, 2012, the 120th Cadet Class will present the “2012 Our Communities – Your Communities” as part of their Community Immersion Program. This presentation is an opportunity for cadets to share what they learned in the academy about various community groups. This includes the history, culture and values within each community group. Additionally, it is an opportunity for the community to ask questions and provide insight. Everyone is welcome to attend.

History: The Community Immersion Program began in December 2003 to bridge the gap between our future police officers and the communities we serve. The program is designed to introduce cadets to Austin’s diverse communities and educate them about the communities they will protect and serve upon graduation. Following graduation on Friday, March 23, 2012, the cadets will join the force as an integral part of the community.
