Join us to celebrate trees, bees, butterflies, and nature in our city at the Roots & Wings Festival, happening this Oct. 24 - Nov. 7!
It’s time for the 2020 Roots & Wings Festival!
In consideration of local public health guidelines, this year we’re moving to an expanded at-home celebration.
-
What is the Roots & Wings Festival?
-
The Roots & Wings Festival is an annual, community-wide celebration of Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day. The festival promotes environmental awareness and celebrates trees, bees, butterflies, pollinators, and getting into nature.
This year, we’re bringing Roots & Wings to you with new ways to celebrate and connect in your home, yard, and nearby nature.
-
Who can participate?
-
Roots & Wings is for everyone! Young or old, renter or homeowner, nature enthusiastic or newbie, longtime resident or recent transplant — all community members are encouraged to participate.
Roots & Wings is also a great opportunity for community members who do not feel connected to our Austin urban forest to explore ways to take advantage of their neighborhood parks, patio gardens, windowsills, or even planter containers.
-
How can I participate?
-
There are many new ways to get involved:
- Build your personal schedule with live events.
- Discover games, recorded webinars, arts and crafts, and more with our lists of anytime actions.
- Show your continued support of nature in our city by signing the Roots & Wings Nature Pledge.
