This event will provide those who are interested in working as a lifeguard, pool attendant, swim instructor or swim coach, the opportunity to complete an application, interview and register for required training.
One of the positions that the Aquatics Department is looking to hire at this event are pool attendants. Pool attendants are a seasonal position that will be asked to monitor patrons entering and exiting the pools that do not have cashiers. They will help to enforce pool rules and assist lifeguards with duties such as picking up trash and cleaning debris from the pool decks. Pool attendants starting pay is $12/hr. All other positions will have a starting pay rate of $13.50 an hour.
Applicants that are 15-16 years old are required to have a parent present during the interview.
Applicants that are 17 years old require parent signatures on the applicant paperwork.
NOTICE: During this event, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department will also be collecting input and asking for recommendations from the community on transportation options to other pools in the area while Givens Pool is closed for repairs this summer. Recommendations and comments will be taken from 12 pm – 4 pm, during the aquatics job fair.
