As of this weekend more than 1,200 Austin residents have taken the opportunity to weigh in on the future of transportation in Austin through the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan (ASMP) online survey. ATD encourages more people to participate in this effort before the survey closes on May 31.

Participation in the survey is critical to the development of the ASMP, Austin’s first locally-focused comprehensive transportation plan. Launched on March 28, 2018, the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan online survey was designed to get public feedback on three different scenarios for Austin’s future transportation network. These three scenarios are based on thousands of comments from public outreach in 2016 and 2017. Austin Transportation will use the feedback on these scenarios to develop the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan.

The Austin Strategic Mobility Plan will, for the first time in Austin’s history, provide a cohesive, locally-focused strategy to address Austin’s transportation challenges and opportunities. The ASMP will further Austin’s Comprehensive Plan, Imagine Austin, by creating actionable mobility-focused goals and objectives. Once adopted by the Austin City Council in Spring 2019, the ASMP will guide future investment, programming and policymaking, shaping Austin’s transportation network for the next 10+ years.

The online survey is available through May 31. Residents can also take the survey while attending several upcoming community events. Visit the ASMP website to find a list of events.

For more information, please contact the Austin Strategic Mobility Plan team at ASMP@austintexas.gov. Learn more about the planning process online at AustinTexas.gov/ASMP.
