Arrested: Phillip Howard Brown, Black male, (D.O.B. 7-20-89)

Narrative: 
On Tuesday, February 14, 2012, Austin Police officers responded to a bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank, 13749 North US 183 Hwy Service Road.

A preliminary investigation shows that a male entered the bank and demanded cash. The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.  No injuries were reported.

The suspect has been identified as Phillip Howard Brown.  He is currently in custody in the Williamson County Jail. 

Brown is also responsible for APD’s 2nd bank robbery on January 10, 2012 at the same Wells Fargo Bank.  Charges are currently pending for 2 counts of Robbery by Threat, 2nd Degree Felony. 

This case remains under investigation by APD Robbery detectives.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS or text “Tip 103” + your message to CRIMES.  You may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest or charges being filed.  This is the third bank robbery of 2012.  At this time in 2011, there were five bank robberies.
