Austin, Texas – The City of Austin Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) will hold their annual public meeting to discuss the City’s Basic Emergency Operations Plan at Austin City Hall in the Board and Commissions Room, located at 301 W. Second St, on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020 at 4:00pm.
The annual meeting provides an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to receive updates regarding any significant operations that may have occurred in 2019, gain insight into the Austin Basic Emergency Operations Plan, as well as receive community preparedness and safety awareness information. The meeting also offers an opportunity for the community to provide feedback and comments on the City’s operations plans.
Developed by HSEM, the Austin Emergency Operations Plan was established to provide a generalized and conceptual framework for the efficient use of resources, and coordinated or multi-agency response to any major emergency or disaster that may impact the metro area. The plan establishes guidelines for how the City will respond to all hazards within its boundaries.
