Mayor Steve Adler will proclaim Thursday, August 10, 2017, Anthony Ortiz Jr. Day in Austin, Texas. Rising accordionist, Anthony Ortiz Jr., who played with his family mariachi band Mariachi Corbetas, passed away on July 31st at the age of 24 after a 10-month battle with cancer. The proclamation will be accompanied by a special musical performance by the Ortiz Family at Austin City Hall, Council Chambers.
