Partnership connects local governments with national and community organizations across the United States
Racial Equity Here today launched their website, intended to connect and provide support to partners working to advance racial equity.
The City of Austin is one of over 100 municipalities, foundations, businesses, and organizations calling on other organizations to take three steps forward on racial equity through clear, easy-to-use tools.
"Government has played a significant role in the creatoin of racial disparities," the Office of Mayor Steve Adler said, "and we must play a central role in proactively advancing racial equity. But we can't do it alone. The Racial Equity Here commitment is a way for organizations, businesses, foundations and government all to work in lockstep toward a future Austin where race can no longer predict life outcomes."
