Composting truck arrives to empty green composting cart

The fourth and final phase of the expansion will add approximately 54,000 additional Austin households with services set to begin in February 2021.

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin Resource Recovery, a department of the City of Austin, will hold a virtual press conference on Tuesday, January 5 at 10 a.m. to announce the final expansion of the Curbside Composting Collection Program. The fourth and final phase of the expansion will add approximately 54,000 additional Austin households with services set to begin for newly expanded customers in February 2021 on their weekly collection day.

TO PARTICIPATE: Each participating news outlet must send contact information for their designated reporter by 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021. Please email alyssa.armstrong@austintexas.gov to confirm participation. Participating reporters will receive a Google document link by 9 a.m. the day of the event to submit questions. A pre-selected pool reporter will ask questions on behalf of all news outlets.
