Free National Small Business Week Panel Session, May 10
Three eCommerce giants take the stage at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 10 during National Small Business Week to provide insight, guidance, and avenues for small businesses to develop global market share for their products.
This free eCommerce Global Giants Panel Event is being hosted at Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street, by the City of Austin Economic Development Department, in partnership with the Alibaba Group, Shop LC, and eBay.
It can be easy to setup a website or open an online store but finding success for your business online can be difficult. The world of ecommerce is competitive for all businesses but especially difficult for small businesses with limited resources. Learn from the pros about how your small business can best leverage its position to master your ecommerce performance and be prepared for global growth.
Small business attendees at the panel event will learn about resources available and tips to success that will help grow online sales. Panelists will meet with businesses one-on-one after the session.
Ecommerce is easy for anyone to do but difficult to do well. This panel discussion will provide insight to the biggest challenges small businesses face with online sales and talk about mastering international expansion.
Alibaba Group is an eCommerce giant and a gateway to China’s large and growing middle class of more than 300 million consumers -- expected to grow to 500 million in next 5 years. Alibaba’s TMall Product Manager for USA, Tony Shan, will participate as one of the three panelists.
Shop LC is a local livestreamed eCommerce product company with strong footholds in jewelry, collectibles, fashion accessories, handbags, cooking products and home goods. Shop LC has been “delivering joy” nationwide from Austin, Texas since 2007.
eBay is the “World’s Online Marketplace” based in Silicon Valley and with roots in Austin, Texas. The company is the eCommerce platform of choice to millions of small businesses across the world. eBay provides currency conversion and global trade opportunities in their Global Trade Resource Center.
