Get Hired! Get Trained! Get Working!

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s (PARD) Aquatic Division will host a series of hiring events throughout April and May. Starting pay is $15 per hour with no previous experience necessary. In addition to the amazing pay, staff members receive free bus passes, have flexible schedules, and get to work outside.

At the Aquatic Hiring Days, potential lifeguards, swim instructors, swim coaches, or pool cashiers have the opportunity to complete an application and interview and register for required training. Acceptable forms of identification are listed at: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents.  

  • 15-16 year-old applicants are required to have a parent present during the interview.
  • 17 year-old applicants require parent signatures on the applicant paperwork.
