Suspect:       Scott McCulloch, White male, D.O.B. 12/27/1981 (Deceased)
 
The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified the victim in the homicide on Greenland Ln. as Willie McCulloch. On Monday, May 31, 2021, Austin 911 received a call from a female who reported that her son had shot himself. APD officers arrived on the scene and discovered two gunshot victims who were unresponsive. They were identified as Willie and Scott McCulloch, the 911 caller’s husband and son. Both victims were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased. 
 
Homicide and crime scene personnel were called to the scene to investigate. It was learned through the investigation that Scott had shot his father Willie then turned the pistol on himself. No motive has been determined. The case is still under investigation. 
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on both the victim and suspect. The cause of death for Willie was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. The cause of death for Scott was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was ruled a suicide.
