Victim:            Marcel Tramon Pimpton | Black male | 7/28/1993
 
At approximately 11:36 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2021, Austin 911 received a report of shots fired in an apartment complex in the 800 block of W. St. Johns Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a blood trail that led them back to the victim, later identified as Marcel Tramon Pimpton. Officers immediately began performing CPR on Mr. Pimpton. Austin-Travis County EMS personnel took over once on scene.
 
Despite best efforts, Mr. Marcel Tramon Pimpton succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased on site.
 
Homicide investigators and crime scene personnel arrived to begin gathering information and processing the scene. Detectives are continuing to seek out witnesses.
 
The motive for the shooting is not yet known.
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death. The case remains under investigation.
