Austin Water Director, Greg Meszaros and Integrated Water Resource Plan Community Task Force Chair, Sharlene Leurig will share insights on the process and the importance of creating a comprehensive water plan that will help secure Austin’s water supply for future generations.
Water is the epicenter of growth and with Austin being one of the fastest growing cities in the country, it is vital that city and community leaders work together to create a comprehensive long term water plan.
Once established, this 100 year water plan will help ensure a diversified, sustainable, and resilient water future while maintaining a strong emphasis on conservation.
The presentation and discussion moderated by Austin Monitor’s Mike Kanin is open to the public and is a great opportunity for folks to learn about the planning process and all that is involved in protecting our water supply and providing reliable, sustainable water services. There will also be information about how citizens can get involved and participate in the process.
