The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic Division is currently behind expectations in the number of lifeguard applicants needed for the 2019 Summer Swim Season. The dramatic drop in the number of applicants could affect the Aquatic Division’s ability to open all pools on the scheduled 2019 dates and times.
The Aquatic Division is looking for lifeguards, cashiers, swim instructors and swim coaches.
The Aquatics Division is hosting a Hiring Day Event that will give those interested in a great summer job the opportunity to learn more about available jobs, complete an application, conduct interviews and register for the required training. It’s a great way to earn money during the summer, meet new people and learn new skills!
Hiring Day Event
Applicants who come in on Thursday, May 23 from 4-8PM to interview and register for the required classes will have their class fees waived. There will also be pizza and snacks!
Applicants that are 15-16 years old are required to have a parent present during the interview.
Applicants that are 17 years old require parent signatures on the applicant paperwork.
