After being closed for renovations, Little Stacy Neighborhood Park will re-open to the public with regular operating hours on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019. Improvements addressed ADA compliance, facilities and playground improvements, and drainage controls to minimize erosion of park grounds.
The following improvements were made:
New and accessible picnic tables.
A new basketball half-court.
Upgrades to the existing tennis courts, including a new play surface, post, nets and lighting.
Accessibility improvements to park walkways and the playground.
A hillside slide added to the playground.
Upgrades to the Shelter House, including accessible restrooms.
A rain garden and other drainage control features.
The 6.73-acre neighborhood park serves the Travis Heights-Fairview Park Neighborhood and is located at 1500 Alameda Dr., Austin, TX 78704. Little Stacy is sited at a distinctive horseshoe bend of Blunn Creek. Existing park amenities include a shelter house with restrooms constructed in the 1930s along with a wading pool. Other existing amenities include tennis courts, volleyball court, half-court basketball, playground and picnic area.
