AUSTIN, TEXAS – March is among the busiest months at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Passengers are advised to arrive in the terminal at least 90 minutes prior to departure time. Knowing travel and security processes help make for smoother travel.
A multitude of events in Austin, such as SXSW, Spring Break, UIL state basketball tournaments, Rodeo Austin and the first IHeartRadio Country Music Festival, bring more travelers through the airport. This means ticketing and security lines are expected to be longer than normal. Airport traffic is up 6% and in 2013, Austin’s airport experienced a record 10 million travelers.
