On Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9:00 a.m., the Austin Parks and Recreation Department, Austin Parks Foundation (APF), and Friends of Patterson Park will hold an opening ceremony to celebrate the renovation of Patterson Neighborhood Park. Park patrons will enjoy several amenities including: playscape equipment, seating area improvements, a miniature amphitheater, walkways that improve park access, and natural play features. The new playground equipment incorporates key elements of physical activity to help children build strength, coordination, and balance. Friends of Patterson Park led the initiative with the support of a $50,000 grant from APF's Austin City Limits Music Festival Grants Program.
