On November 6, 2018, at approximately 12:33 p.m., Austin 9-1-1 received a call about a man who was shot or stabbed in a parking lot located at 1030 Norwood Park Blvd. Austin police officers and EMS arrived to find Tony Huggins lying on the parking lot ground with a penetrating wound. Nearby citizens had already began CPR upon emergency personnel arrival. EMS took over rescue. Despite their best efforts, Huggins succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
Austin police quickly established a crime scene and began gathering witnesses. Homicide detectives interviewed witnesses and determined that a shooting occurred during an illegal drug transaction. 
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on the victim on Wednesday, November 7, and the manner of the death was ruled a homicide. 
 
On November 7, 2018, Isaac Thomas was arrested for an unrelated charge in Bastrop County and is currently booked into the Bastrop County Jail.
 
On November 8, 2018, Austin Police Homicide Detectives filed a Capital Murder arrest warrant on Thomas. Thomas remains in custody with no bond.
