NHCD has released theDraft FY 2017-18 Action Plan for a 30-day comment period, which will end on June 26, 2017. Public hearings on the draft Action Plan are scheduled for June 13 and June 15, 2017.
Every year, with participation and input from Austin residents, the Neighborhood Housing and Community Development (NHCD) Department develops its annual Action Plan, which outlines community needs, resources, and priorities and proposed activities for continued federal funding the City of Austin expects to receive through four U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entitlement grants: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA).
The City of Austin must submit the annual Action Plan regarding housing, community development, economic development, and public services to HUD on or before August 15, 2017, to receive the funding.
The public is invited to review the Draft FY 2017-18 Action Plan from May 23, 2017, through June 26, 2017, on the City’s web site at www.austintexas.gov/housing or at community locations noted in thenotice.
