Bringing City Resources to South Austin on Thursday, November 21
[AUSTIN, TEXAS, NOVEMBER 21, 2019] —Several City of Austin departments have teamed up to create Pop-Up ATX, a new initiative that aims to reach more residents and ensure that City programs and services are accessible to all Austinites. The next pop-up resource fair will take place at Perez Elementary School from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019.
A variety of free City resources and services will be provided to the public through this initiative. Lucero Arechiga, Public Information Specialist Senior at Austin Code Department, shared that Austin Code will be helping residents to experience a day in the life of a code inspector and take a “virtual walk through a home full of common code violations” via a 360-degree video tour. Austin Water will share information on rebates that save water and money on your utility bills and Austin Public Health will be providing free vaccines, blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol screenings.
Other City participating departments include Austin 3-1-1, Austin Animal Services, Austin Police Department, Austin Transportation Department, Mexican American Cultural Center, Municipal Court, Neighborhood Housing and Community Development, Office of Police Oversight, and more.
