The City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development Department (NHCD) has worked with the community to develop Austin’s first Strategic Housing Plan to target and better align resources with community driven goals. The Plan's objective is to ensure a unified strategic direction and help facilitate community partnerships to achieve a shared vision. The proposed plan, developed after months of intensive community engagement and incorporation of stakeholder feedback, was unanimously recommended by the Planning Commission on March 28th.
A public hearing before the Austin City Council will take place no earlier than 4:00pm on Thursday, April 6th in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 301 W. Second Street, Austin, Texas 78701.
This public hearing will precede potential adoption of the Austin Strategic Housing Plan. The earliest City Council will take action on the plan is Thursday, April 13th.
The community is invited to attend the public hearing to provide input on the proposed Plan. Review the proposed Austin Strategic Housing Plan at www.austintexas.gov/HousingPlan.
