Traffic Fatalities #1 & #2
Motorcycle lost control and slid into parked sedan.

Date: Tuesday, January 1, 2013
Time: 5:15 p.m.
Location: 1100 Block of Berger Street
Deceased: Rodney A. Carr Senior, Black male, (D.O.B. 10-29-81)
Rodney A. Carr Junior, Black male, (D.O.B. 12-13-99)
Narrative: APD’s preliminary investigation shows that a Gray 2002 Honda CBR 900R Motorcycle was traveling southbound on Berger Street when it lost control and slid into a parked Silver 2012 Nissan sedan.
The adult driver was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash and the juvenile passenger died a short time later at the hospital.
Neither rider nor passenger was wearing a helmet.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at 512-974-5594. These are Austin’s 1st and 2nd traffic fatalities of 2013. At this time in 2012, there were no traffic fatalities.
