The Office of Civil Rights will sponsor a four-part educational series that informs the community, returning citizens, the re-entry community, employers, housing providers, businesses, and HR professionals on civil rights protections for Austinites.

This free training series seeks to empower participants with information to increase economic opportunity; prevent and reduce discrimination; support housing security; and protect the health and safety of Austin residents.

The series is designed for the reentry and marginalized communities, and will include the following critical information:

  • Fair Chance Hiring for Job Seekers
  • Fair Chance Hiring for Employers
  • Employment Discrimination Education 
  • Housing Discrimination Education

 

Workshop 1: The Impact of the Fair Chance Hiring Ordinance on Re-Entry Hiring Opportunities
