We will begin meeting in January 2015 as part of the city’s land development code rewrite process, CodeNEXT, to discuss how we can achieve the Imagine Austin goals of integrating nature into the city and creating complete communities through revisions to our zoning and environment codes.
This group will examine how the code can encourage the broader vision of green infrastructure established by Imagine Austin: “an interconnected system of parks, waterways, open space, trails, green streets, tree canopy, agriculture, and stormwater management features that mimic natural hydrology.” This discussion will also continue to build upon the topics we talked about this past spring and summer: green stormwater infrastructure and beneficial use of stormwater.
