The Dougherty Arts Center’s Youth Saturday Arts Program helps young artists to expand their experiences in various art mediums that they might not receive in conventional arts education. Each program month will center around a new theme, meaning no two projects will ever be the same and students can repeat classes as often as they like.

Students will be introduced to various hand-building techniques as they create unique three-dimensional projects. Pinching, coiling, and slab-building will all be explored, while older students will get the opportunity to try their hands at the pottery wheel. Students will glaze their pieces, resulting in amazing works of clay art. Materials and firing included.
Clay Buddies Ages 5-7

Students will work on their hand-building skills and try their hand at the pottery wheel.
Students will become digital professionals as they explore all things digital art. Utilizing the Adobe Suite and other programs such as Pivot Animator and SketchUp, students will learn about digital illustration, animation, 3D rendering, and programming. Students will need an 8GB USB drive to take their projects home.
