Within the event/hospitality industry, the Austin Convention Center is renowned as being a leader in technology. The Center offers exclusive technical services to clients including:
Wired and wireless (Wi-Fi) services.
Network support including design and on-site support to assist clients during events.
Voice support including analog and Voice over IP services.
Digital signage services.
In addition to providing services to external clients, the Center also provides support and service to about 300 full- and part-time employees who serve three event facilities and three parking garages, including Safety and Security which operates 24/7. Since the Austin Convention Center’s 1992 opening, more than eight million people have attended approximately 3,200 events, including approximately 800 conventions.

Highlights and Achievements
Launched the Business Innovation Strategy (BIS) initiative to discover, review and prioritize projects for new opportunities and solutions to business challenges. BIS is a holistic approach that uses a combination of Governance, Innovation, Enterprise Architecture and Project Management methods to realize a shared approach for developing projects, focusing on the customer and needs of the business.
Implemented the Client Survey using Verint cloud-based Enterprise Feedback Management to obtain survey results for Austin Convention Center Department key performance indicators.
Deployed an Aviation/Airline Common Use Self-Service Kiosk. This kiosk allows customers to print boarding passes or bag tags before they leave the Convention Center.
Best Convention Center and Platinum Choice Award presented by Smart Meetings magazine.
Nominated and voted by meeting professionals as part of “Smart Meetings, Smart Stars” series.
National Prime Site Award presented by Facilities and Destinations, a selection by meeting industry executives directly involved in site selection, i.e. association executives, meeting planners and tradeshow managers.
