The Austin Human Resources Department seeks to engage, attract, develop, support and retain the best workforce in the country to serve Austin residents. The City of Austin has a workforce of approximately 12,000 in more than 20 departments that offer a range of services.
The Human Resources Information Systems division provides technical training and data assistance to the various 30 departments within the City of Austin. The HRIS division also provides internal technology support and Citywide organizational research.

Highlights and Achievements
Implemented an automated employee exit survey. When an employee leaves the City they will have the opportunity to do an online survey answering questions based on his/her employment experience. This is in an effort to create a more productive, inclusive and friendly workplace.
