2024 Total Solar Eclipse

On April 8th, Central Texas will experience a total solar eclipse. If you are in Austin, you may see the total eclipse around 1:36 p.m. CDT. The length of darkness will vary based on where you are.

Plan for increased traffic on roadways and public spaces. Never look at the eclipse without proper eye protection while the sun is moving into and out of place for the total eclipse.

For more information on how and where to view the eclipse, including where to get eclipse glasses, please visit the Ready Central Texas Eclipse webpage.
