Records Division

The Records Division manages and maintains summary employment history for all City of Austin employees, known as Service Records.

Request Verifications of Employment or Income

To process a verification of employment or income, you must contact The Work Number. 

The Work Number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  This process streamlines the transfer of information between employers, verifiers, and government agencies.  This benefits the employee by accelerating the decision process without compromising your data privacy.

Viewing Your Service Record File

To view your Employee Service Record (summary employment history), you must first schedule an appointment by calling the Records division at 512-974-3241. 

Please bring your City of Austin employee identification badge or state driver’s license to your appointment for identity verification. After your identity is confirmed, your Employee Service Record will be provided in one of the following formats: a digital copy on a USB drive or a printed paper copy.
