Beginning Oct. 1, I began my new position as the Interim City Manager for our great community so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and tell you how privileged and humble I am to have the chance to lead this organization, even on an interim basis.
I want to thank the Mayor and City Council for this opportunity to serve and want to acknowledge the leadership of Marc Ott who brought a passion for public service that I share.
Most recently I have been the Chief Financial Officer, but I have worked with the City more than two decades in various financial and auditing roles. I’ve experienced the growth of our community and seen first-hand the strain it has put on City services and its finances to meet the increasing needs.
Through it all – the good times and the bad – I’ve seen the resiliency of this workforce and its ability to rise up to any challenges.
I will continue to work with the City Council on its priorities of addressing affordability, equal opportunity for all residents, and meeting the needs that are most in need. We will accomplish this by continuing to work closely with the community in an engaging way.
I am proud to serve you and those that call Austin home.
